Changes
Change, the vital factor that defines a person’s character.
The unplanned happenings are what makes life interesting, isn’t it? His conscience kept questioning, as his heart grew heavier. His only way of life was to keep it simple. Complications untied without efforts, depression lost its meaning, happiness and joy enveloped him. Life, as he knew, was just a cakewalk. The boy, who sailed a calm sea throughout his life, is terrified of facing some swell in the waves.
“Everything happens for a reason,” he says to himself every day. Little
did he know that the thought of what the “reason” actually is engulfed him slowly. The very things, that brought him happiness, slowly changed its priorities. For once in his life, he started to feel lost in the responsibilities he holds. In the race between time and maturity, time started to take the lead. What did he do? He puts on a mask to cope with time, burying his fears underneath. Days ran by faster than ever before, slowly he finds himself immobile. Desperation for relief strikes, bad decisions lines up in front of him; one small misstep could change into a life of regret.
Acceptance has never been a part of him. His well-honed pride was not helping him anymore. Through his breakdown, he started to question his character and the ways he has been presenting himself to the world. He hit the rock bottom when he exhausted his mind. He wore himself down in the process of over thinking. Now all he wanted was to live through the day.
He followed his routine for a few days, giving some space to his thoughts and worked hard on not thinking about tomorrow. To his surprise, he gradually started to absorb the things happening around and fathom out the reason behind it. He gave himself the ample space
and time he needed to get back to his feet and started moving forward again. He began to explore himself and found excitement in it. He kept adding quirks and shaped his personality. Time worked wonders on him, and he finally saw the exit of the maze he got lost in. He found himself in the middle of nowhere.
Today he was free of his fears. Those dark days were just another forgotten memory. He was still the happy boy he once was, but now he understood that life does not shape itself for him. He took the roughest path that life offered and turned it into something fruitful.
His life didn't get better by chance, it got better by change.
