A Beautiful World

“The world conspires for you to be happy.”

We live in such a breath-taking sphere filled by magic and wonder. The whole world is your Hogwarts, you just have to adapt to being Luna to see all that is beautiful in each and everything and everyone. We all feel such intense sadness now and then; profound happiness could just be right around the corner in a stranger’s smile or a kid running to her mother or even just one happy memory away.

If there is something that you have learnt in your life till now, it must definitely be that this world possesses infinite possibilities. There is always an end to your periods of sadness, suffering or regret also depression. I understand it is difficult to fight your demons, but, I know you will and I promise you, you are not alone in that fight. You will always have someone, who thinks that you are their favourite human in the whole wide world. Every human being is completely different with their own flaws and flowers. Each one of them has an infinitely interesting set of experiences just like you. All you have to do is open your heart, look into their eyes and ask them for a conversation. Every person is a different piece of art and you may not understand every one of them particularly well. But, once you fall in love with a song for its music and its lyrics, it can put you out of any misery. It is the same with people. Their vibe and their hug is the music and their words and actions are the lyrics and I think, it hits deeper notes that a lyric could never ever do. Just give humans a chance. They could easily become your happy places.

Well, if you choose not to even beyond this, there is always Mother Nature. Drag yourself to your happy place, may it be the waters of the sea rushing down to touch your feet or may it be the mountains that make your problems seem as small as the view of the cities from atop. It has a natural way of cleansing you of all negativity. Your heart feels fully satisfied and yet as light as air after such conversations with her.

Coming back to aspect of humans, making friends I think, is a special reward for anyone. Everybody wants to feel valued and accepted and we think it should happen spontaneously. But, it does not. When you’re quite different from the others you have to work at belonging. We have to take a break from being consumed by our own selfishness and understand how we make the people we interact feel during and after any interaction that we have with them. This is not the equivalent of thinking, “What will the others think of me?” but, it is being considerate of the others person’s feelings. Understanding one’s own uniqueness or what makes you different from the others is the first step to understanding others. It helps you relate to the other person’s issues at very similar level. It becomes easier to put yourself in other people’s shoes.

The single thing that every one of us has in common is being human. I think, no one should have a claim on the word ‘normal’ to define themselves. Everyone is different in some way or the other. I think, every first conversation between two people has to have this question, “What makes you special?” in it. Beyond that if we are able to understand, appreciate and refrain from judging the person, I think, that is what makes people beautiful. I think, this helps us all in having a great support system in times of intense sadness. Establishing meaningful connections and having conversations that matter would all just be so much  more easier if we understand other people.

I think, understanding one’s own differences, accepting and appreciating other people’s differences will help us pop the bubbles that we live in which may be based on gender, caste, language, nationality or whatever barrier it may be. Then, this actually becomes one big family in a huge bubble called planet earth. Oh! What about the aliens? I’ll write a continuation if we survive their invasion. Until then, let us all work on creating a more meaningful connections.

Hey, guys! Thank you for taking the time to read my work. I thought only people who know me well did read my work. But, thanks to some of those souls who have made some advertising for me in their circles and helping me reach a few more people with my ideas. Hope you like it!
If we are meeting for the first time, I’m Nandha. I’m not a spectacular person with any superpowers or even amazing grammar. I just write what feels right at the bottom of my heart. Do drop a comment, if you think it was worth the few minutes of your invaluable time.
Thank You!
